Job Description: Account Manager ad sales - lifestyle magazines - Bristol
This is a key sales role, as account manager, selling to agencies and clients to maximise profits and achieve the budgeted revenue targets. The client is one of the country's premier media companies, with a raft of high profile national publications covering a wide range of markets. All are backed up by extensive advertising campaigns - which guarantee them a high market profile. This role is for a wildlife magazine - so a keen interest in this subject will help.
This is an excellent opportunity for sales people with experience in the publishing sector to progress their career. You must have proven experience and a natural aptitude for sales - both on the phone and face to face. If you fit the bill, this prestigious client will reward you with an attractive financial package plus excellent benefits - details on application. The basic salary is in the region of £24,000 - depending on experience - plus a very healthy commission.

REPORTS TO: Advertisement Manager/Senior Advertisement Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To achieve, and where possible exceed the budget levels for revenue, yield and pagination. To track year on year performance growing revenue and share To build magazine market share in a competitive context To grow the yield on you business and adhere to the discount parameters outlined in the sales policy To achieve the required daily call time (60 minutes), effective call rate (15 effectives per day) and client/agency visits (2 per week) To monitor magazine market share on a monthly basis To sell on a series basis where-ever possible To raise the profile and understanding of your brand(s) through face to face presentations and meetings To ensure all competitive leads are chased within a week of a competitor's on-sale date To drive on-line revenues through the full range of on-line opportunities To actively sell across our portfolio driving revenues with cross-title advertising deals To retain x% of your client base To make regular contact with the top 20 clients and look to maintain and where-possible grow their revenue To drive revenues with a creative sales approach which increases our advertorial business To ensure all your filemaker notes are up to date in terms of client and agency contacts, updated contact report and order confirmations. To ensure all bookings are imputed correctly on filemaker with particular notice being paid to the client/agency contact, rate, order number and copy contact. To ensure the production policies are adhered to and that there is a smooth working relationship and communication with the two teams To close your issues on DIGI deadline To introduce new clients to the business on a weekly/monthly basis To target relevant clients/client sectors based on editorial features/specials To utilise all available marketing, sales and service functions and facilities so as to maximise clients satisfaction, address clients needs and secure maximum revenue To devise simple pitch documents/presentations which demonstrate the value and effectiveness of our brands To devise presentations to demonstrate your brands strengths in competitive context To build a file of case studies and testimonials to demonstrate the effectiveness of advertising in our brands To communicate magazine/brand updates, editorial features and other market insights to your clients on a monthly basis The publisher is keen that you generate a high and positive profile for yourself with all individuals internally and individuals & organisations with whom they do business.
